While we spent Week.... um... 5? (I'm losing track!) making some promising discoveries with paint and color, Halloween took over this week. Even when it looked more like Christmas. Gareth and Katydid continued with their afternoons of math, Latin, and language, but most of the rest of our time was spent using up all my tape and aluminum foil in the creation of plate armor.
From back to front: Katydid is Athena, Gareth is Alexander the Great (with a last-minute, hot-glued, chicken-feather crest helmet that didn't turn out too badly, I have to say), Farmerboy is a knight (again), Pip is a pirate, and Pop is... well, we're not sure what he is, but that's what he wanted to wear. (You can't see them, but he's also carrying a shield and wearing fireman boots.)
I had hoped to bake some cookies, but alas, with Pip being sick for most of the week, that didn't happen. What did happen was a little of this:
And some of this:
And, of course, a few favorite picture books:
And an impromptu "Halloween party":
And a lot of candy. A LOT of candy.
