St. Ignatius' Prayer for Generosity
Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for reward,
save that of knowing that I do your will.
I used to have this prayer on my refrigerator. I don't know where it came from, but it appeared at a time when Gareth's Tourette Syndrome related problems were at their height. He's come a long way since those days, but I find myself wishing that this prayer was still on my refrigerator door. I went looking for it today, and thought I would send it out to other mothers of kids with behavioral disabilities. I said a prayer for you today, too.
