... with the Montessori manuals from NMAC. They look like they are a disorganized wannabe Montessorian's dream. (And even just seeing the Table of Contents from the Practical Life manuals is enough to give me ideas I didn't have.) And then there's the sample lesson from the Preschool Sensorial Manual, which makes me realize how much more can be done with the materials than I realized. The manuals are expensive, but may be just the thing for math with Katydid, for whom numbers become somewhat meaningless unless she can hold them in her hands. And certainly if one spreads the cost over a number of years and children, then the incremental cost would be much lower. Thanks to the playschool6 list for the tip!
Those do look incredible. But so pricey! I think you are right, though about if you spread the cost out over several children it wouldn't seem so high. But that initial outlay, ouch!

I so hear you! I drool over that website and have downloaded all the samples also. I think I will end up with the Montessori Research and Dev. manuals instead due to cost but boy if I were starting out (ie had not spent the wad over 17yrs that I have had dh fork over lol) I would just do it!

Ditto what everyone else said!

Yeah, the prices made me cringe, too. I think we are going to take the plunge and order the math manuals, though. Considering that we're buying it for Katydid -- to whom numbers are meaningless unless she can hold them -- and we've got 3 more after her already... I think the cost will be spread out. I'm not sure I'd be willing to fork over the dough if I thought the manual would just be for *her*, though.
