Week 3 got a little chaotic. As you can probably see.
On Wednesday, we spent most of the day at the doctor's office. Gareth was having headaches related to sinus problems. We spent most of the rest of the day in the mud. Like this:
And this:
That's what happens when you're a twin and you start playing in a mudhole and not only do you get yourself muddy, but your brother is also available to pour mud in your hair.
(These are the cute pictures, by the way. I have no pictures of what happened about two minutes later when they threw a couple of cups in the mud and then snuck around behind me to infiltrate the house. No, no pictures of what the bathtub looked like when they got in with their clothes and shoes on, and no pictures of what I looked like as I tried to clean the tub with newborn in tow before I could even give them a bath.)
And then on Friday, we took the day off to clean the house for Grandma and Grandpa G. (I don't know why it needed it. Ahem.) Andy took the day off, too. He and Farmerboy made apple butter:
(That's Chipmunk hiding in that pouch he's wearing. And, yes, I do think it is quite manly for a husband to wear a baby while making apple butter with his four and two year olds.)
Grandma and Grandpa arrived on Saturday, which also happened to be Gareth's eleventh birthday. (I am trying not to think about that number -- eleven. It sounds so... almost a teenager.) He received more Harry Potter books and a bunch of Legos:
And chose tortellini and a triple chocolate cake for dinner:
(And yes, we did forget to buy birthday candles. I get the Worst Mother of the Year Award. Fortunately, Gareth didn't seem to mind, and it was his choice to buy a cake rather than make one. Probably because he'd seen that triple chocolate cake at the store already!)
Gareth's birthday was a little windy, so Grandpa took everybody outside to fly kites:
Katydid took the kite pictures. See that dot in the sky up there? Katydid really wanted a picture of the kite.
I'm really enjoying doing these weekly review posts, but it looks like I'd better split this post in two. Stay tuned for the review of week 3's actual work!
